A town in the county of Somerset that was built on irregular high ground, and is near the River Frome. It is situated 13 miles south of Bath and 43 miles East of Taunton. Nicknamed the Frome Hundred, this town has a population of 24,510. Historically, Frome is famous for being a major player in the wool and cloth industry. Later, it diversified into printing and metal-works.

In the 20th century, the town grew significantly with most of its center falling in a conservation area. Frome has its rail transport links that serve as a center for surrounding regions. Previously described as a cool city, Frome has numerous cultural and sporting activities for its residents. Furthermore, few prominent figures were born in, or have lived in Frome.
